The Ward 17 team at Airedale Hospital amazingly managed to exceed their fundraising target of £5,000 at their Skipton Summer Shopping Fair on 12 August.
Supporters of AHCC set up stalls selling various goods to raise money for the Children’s Unit at Airedale Hospital.
Becky Fox, who organised the fundraiser, said:
“I feel the summer stall event was a huge success. We had over 25 stalls, all local people, selling everything from homemade cakes, baby clothes and toys to homeware and gifts. I would like to thank everyone who supported us.

“We set our fund-raising target at £5,000 and thanks to all the funds raised from the event, we have exceeded our original target.
“We really hope we can use that money to make something special for the patients of the children’s ward, to enjoy for many years to come.”
Next for Ward 17 is trekking through Machu Picchu in Peru from 6-15 October. Funds raised will go to AHCC for use by the Children’s Unit, and any remaining funds will go to the Charity’s ABC (Airedale Baby and Child) fund.
