Family owned, Keighley based brewery Timothy Taylor’s recently made a £2500 donation to Airedale Hospital and Community Charity for the Sunbeam Support Group.
The Sunbeam Support Group is made up of a dedicated team of three specialist midwives and a parent peer supporter. Together they provide essential support to people from the local community and beyond, following baby loss occurring at any gestation or after birth.
The group was founded 9 years ago and has provided ongoing support for parents ever since.
Paul Tiffany, Timothy Taylor’s Finance Director and Charity Committee Chair said: “As one of the largest employers in Keighley, Timothy Taylor’s recognises it plays a vital role in both the community and with local charities.
“The Sunbeam Support Group provide such a needed service at the most devastating time of a person’s life, and that service needs to be protected. Therefore, we are grateful that we’re in a position to support, and hope the money proves valuable to the charity in the important work they do every day.”
As well as providing support during their time of need, the Sunbeam Support Group host monthly meetings for bereaved parents and shine a light on awareness days throughout the calendar year which may prove more difficult to navigate for some families. They also hold several events throughout the year that families attend to join together.
Beverley Beaumont, Bereavement Midwife said: “I’d like to express my sincerest thanks to the Charity Committee at Timothy Taylor’s for seeing the value in our support group.
“Being able to provide resources and a space for families to come together to share collective experiences, is a vital part of our role and this incredible donation will go towards ensuring that we can continue to provide this level of service for all families affected by baby loss.”
