Students from Craven College and pupils from Greatwood Primary School were among those who took part in last month’s The Big TLC event at Skipton Town Hall, raising money for Airedale Hospital.

The event, which took place on the NHS’ 75th birthday on 5th July, raised a total of £1,000 for Airedale Hospital & Community Charity

The fashion show and shopping event showcased products from local business On Trend Boutique, as well as highlighting the wonderful talents of Craven College Level 3 Art and Design students and Eco Rangers from Greatwood Primary School, with their recycled costumes.

Laura Brennand, a tutor from Craven College, said: “The show was amazing! I am so grateful to Airedale Hospital and Community Charity for including us in the event and allowing us the opportunity to showcase our students work on the catwalk. It was wonderful to celebrate the hard work and achievements of our fashion and textiles students. To be able to support the charity in raising money for such worthy causes was an honour too, we loved being a part of the event.”

The fashion show was supported by various stalls from local businesses, including The Beauty Nest, FIIYA and The Rusted Kingdom.

Laura Hepworth, charity fundraiser and organiser of The Big TLC says, “We were overwhelmed with the support for our Big TLC! It was lovely to see so many people supporting their NHS, celebrating the 75th Anniversary and having a good time.

“We cannot thank enough all those who took part in the show, hosted a stall, donated a prize and attended on the evening. Bringing our fabulous community together was so important to us, as was encouraging people to take a night for themselves. We hope everyone who came had a great time.”
