Our impact at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust

We want everyone who needs Airedale NHS Foundation Trust’s services to receive the best possible care and support.

Our mission is to support ANHSFT to enhance patient care and employee wellbeing by raising awareness, proactively generating funds and supporting others to donate and fundraise.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we are able to support and invest in areas across ANHSFT in line with the Trust strategy:

• Supporting our people
• Patient-centred
• Progression
• Partnership
• Population need

Through donations and fundraising AHCC have been able to fund important equipment, items and projects to improve patient experience and staff wellbeing, you can find examples of these items below. You can also find a full breakdown of funded items through charitable funds in the 2023/24 Annual Report.

Making a difference to Airedale’s patients and visitors

From ward refurbishments and sensory trollies to facilities that keep mobile phones charged and seating in the outdoor spaces at Airedale there is a vast range of items that have been provided thanks to charitable funds.

In previous years, a hydrotherapy pool funded through the charity ‘Make a Splash’ appeal has helped patients receiving physiotherapy. A ‘companion cat’ was funded for elderly patients providing companionship and enjoyment during their stay.

For patients receiving treatment in Airedale’s Intensive Care Unit, ‘Critical Care Diaries’ and ‘Get To Know Me’ boards were funded for loved ones to complete on behalf of the patient ahead of their recovery.

Making a difference to Airedale’s workforce

As a charity, one of AHCC’s missions is to support colleagues of Airedale alongside patients, visitors and the community.

The AOKAiredale campaign has been vital in assisting colleagues in accessing funds to assist with their wellbeing on a day to day basis.

Thanks to funding from the charity, a range of furniture and appliances were funded for the social and rest area of junior doctors (the doctors’ mess) at Airedale.

Colleagues are also able to come together as a team to apply for funding in the form of a wellbeing grant on an annual basis. Items funded in previous years have included a range of plants for an office space, a comfortable sleeper bed, an range of fiction and non-fiction books for the hospital library and new furniture for break rooms.
