On Wednesday 4 October, we held our first ever Pub Quiz at the Old White Bear in Cross Hills to fundraise for our Emergency Department Appeal.

In a four-round gruelling test of general knowledge, including a bonus NHS and Charity Trivia round, we made sure everyone was put to the test in their knowledge of film, music, geography and literature.

But it wasn’t all hard work and arguments over how tall Mount Everest is, as being at The Old White Bear meant that our amazing supporters and participants could purchase a range of delicious food and drinks from the lovely staff that supported our event.

After the fun had ended and raffle tickets had been purchased, it was time to announce the winners

Congratulations to team ‘Who’s Seen Dom?’, who scored the highest amount of points, and won a large box of Whittaker’s Chocolates and a bottle of Prosecco, complimentary of The Old White Bear.

And also a huge congratulations to Olivia, who won the top raffle prize of a Kindle.

Thanks to our kind supporters we raised an amazing £267 for our ED Appeal.

Jodie Hearnshaw, Charity Manager and Quiz Master for the evening said:

“Events like these remind us of how incredible the Airedale community really is. A huge thank you to everyone that joined the fun and helped to raise much needed funds for our very special appeal. Look out for more quiz evenings coming soon.”
