Airedale Hospital & Community Charity has received a generous donation of a privacy pram from local, family owned company Bababing.

The pram will be used to support bereaved families by offering greater dignity, sensitivity and choice during deeply difficult moments. It will allow parents to spend time with their baby in a way that feels right for them – whether that’s a quiet walk, or to accompany them to the mortuary in a way that feels more personal and respectful.

Bababing, a Keighley-based designer and manufacturer of prams, travel systems, and cribs, donated the pram after hospital colleagues sought a way to offer more privacy and dignity to families at an incredibly difficult time.

Jamie Robinson, Sales Director at Bababing, said:

“Supporting families during the most heartbreaking of times is incredibly important to us. When we learned how privacy prams can offer greater dignity and sensitivity for bereaved parents, we wanted to help in any way we could. We hope this donation provides comfort and reassurance to families cared for by the bereavement midwives.”

Airedale NHS Foundation Trust’s Bereavement Support Midwife, Gemma Sayer, expressed heartfelt thanks for the donation:

“This privacy pram will make a meaningful difference to the families we support and help them to make memories for their short time together. It offers a gentler, more private way to accompany their baby on necessary journeys through the hospital, helping parents feel that their child is being cared for with the utmost respect. We are truly grateful to Bababing for their generosity and understanding.”

Airedale’s Bereavement Team provides compassionate, personalised care to families experiencing pregnancy loss or baby loss, supporting them through every stage of their hospital journey and beyond. Their work ensures that families receive dedicated emotional support, clear guidance, and a safe, understanding space.
