Kate Lambert completes Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge for Airedale Rheumatology Department

By 18 August 2021No Comments

Kate Lambert recently completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for the Rheumatology department at Airedale. Kate wanted to give back to the team in the Rheumatology department who supported her throughout her diagnosis of Vasculitis (GPA), a rare autoimmune disease, in 2016.

Kate says:

“The kindness and care offered to me from the Rheumatology department helped me to be more positive about my condition.”

She continues:

“The consultants and nurses, in particular Dr Shabina Sultan and Kelly Tempest, were informative and supportive on a personal level. If I had any worries or concerns, they contacted me straight away and were very reassuring.”

Kate did the walk with her Dad at the start of August and they completed the challenge in less than 11 hours. She smashed her fundraising target and raised over £2000 which will make a huge difference to the department.
