Throughout March fundraiser Joanne Baxter ran 100km with her partner Chris. She did the challenge to support and show her appreciation for the Sunbeam Support Group, which recently cared and supported members of her family.

Joanne raised a fantastic £1,347 for the Sunbeam Support Group, which comes under Airedale Hospital and Community Charity. She came to Airedale in June to present the donation to Bev and Gemma from the Sunbeam Support Group team who were delighted to receive the funds and show Joanne around the Sunbeam Garden (a tranquil space for anyone who has experienced the loss of a baby or young child).

The Sunbeam Support Group provides a welcoming space for anyone who has experienced the loss of a baby or young child. Parents can meet other families who are grieving for their children, talk openly about their loss, discuss coping mechanisms, and learn to live again. Run by Airedale Midwives, the group offers advice for bereaved parents, and grief-related resources, including a lending library which allows parents to borrow books related to the topic of baby loss.

You can donate directly to the Sunbeam Support Group by referencing 339532 on bank transfers or cheques.
