Fiona Wilkinson tackling her total warrior challengeFiona Wilkinson recently took part in a Total Warrior challenge – a 12k run with 25 obstacles throughout consisting of mud, water and obstacles to climb – to raise money for Airedale Hospital and Community Charity. The event was postponed last year but in July this year, Fiona took part with her husband and some friends. She raised nearly £800 for the Maxillofacial and Speech and Language departments to show her appreciation to them after they provided her with excellent treatment following an operation to extract a tumour from the inside of her mouth.

Fiona says:

“I am so incredibly grateful to everyone at Airedale who saw me through my diagnosis and treatment. I felt it was important to give something back to the two departments in particular who played a huge part in my recovery.”

She continues:

“It was a tough and scary few months, I was terrified when I heard the word ‘cancer’ but now two years later, I am still cancer free.”
