Airedale Hospital and Community Charity had a truly cracking Easter having received over 1000 Easter eggs and crafting supplies for patients over the holiday weekend.
This year, the charity has been able to extend their support across Airedale General Hospital and Castleberg Hospital in Settle, so every inpatient received a chocolate egg on Easter Sunday. Alongside patient’s staying in hospital, day patients in Children’s Outpatients, the Emergency Department and the Child Development Centre received crafting packs and books that had been donated.
Carla Weatherall, Charity Fundraiser said: “This year has been really exciting for us in the run up to Easter. It’s been wonderful to see so many people from the local community coming together to do something nice for our patients.
“We’d like to extend our thanks and gratitude to everyone who has taken the time to gather and donate eggs and alternatives for patients who may be nil by mouth or unable to have chocolate. It’s meant that everyone can be included this year.”
Donations included: activity and crafting items and books from Keighley based mum Charlotte, eggs from the All Together Now choir, RG Group, the Cavendish pub in Keighley, eggs and crafts from the Red Lion Silsden, eggs from Dowson Food Machinery, an annual visit from the Wrecking Crew motorcycle group alongside chocolate eggs, eggs from Robertson Construction and a visit from five Bradford City football players who personally handed out eggs to children at Airedale General Hospital.
