A big good luck to Sarah Hayes, who will be running the Great North Run on September 10th to raise money for Airedale Hospital and Community Charity.
Sarah is one of our Consultant Paediatricians and works with Children and Young People with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, and is passionate about the importance of peer support amongst children with the condition and their families.
Sarah said:
“Diabetes is a lifelong condition that has a significant impact on children and their families.
“Each year the team takes the children and their siblings on an activity day. It enables children to participate in activities who may not otherwise have the opportunity to do so.
“It also provides the chance for children and parents to meet others with the same condition.”
Airedale Hospital and Community Charity will again be funding the activity for the third year running.
Sarah said:
“The charity will be funding the activity again this year so that all children will have the opportunity to take part and have fun.”
Sarah is incredibly already at 75% of her donation goal. To donate, visit https://greatnorthrun2023.enthuse.com/pf/sarah-hayes-20607 to help Sarah on the home stretch!
