6-year-old Warren Greenwood from Cowling recently raised a fantastic £100 to buy 25 gifts for elderly patients that will be in hospital at Airedale over Christmas.

Warren decided to fundraise for the gifts because he wanted to cheer up people that will be spending Christmas in hospital, away from family and friends.

He chose the gifts himself and received support from local businesses including Morrison’s, Whitakers Chocolates in Skipton, and 22 The Square in Keighley.

He packed the presents into gift bags and delivered them to the hospital where the Airedale Hospital and Community Charity team will distribute the gifts for patients to open on Christmas Day.

Ciara Walsh from the Trust, who received the gifts on behalf of Airedale Hospital and Community Charity, said:

“We’re very grateful to Warren for donating so many gifts. It was really kind of him to think of others who aren’t able to be with their families this Christmas. It will make a huge difference and will bring a smile to lots of patients’ faces.”
